Can people and conservation successfully work together? Addressing conservation conflicts - a presentation for 4th year environmental undergraduates.
Powerpoint presentation bringing to light some recent research and tricky/controversial conservation conflict topics. This is to encourage students to debate and think out loud in class, but also take some poignant messages/topics home with them. This presentation is followed up with discussions on the VLE and also gears up for their second assignment.

Case Study Pack for Students
For each assessment within the course Cert HE Highland Heritage for Tourism, a comprehensive guidance pack was developed to support students in navigating the process of academic writing. This is particularly beneficial for mature students, who often form a significant portion of the cohort and may have been out of the formal education system for an extended period. The materials are intentionally designed to be clear and accessible, ensuring they can be effectively utilised by students who may have limited familiarity with academic writing conventions. This example focuses on how to approach the case study assessment.

Marine Spatial Planning Role Playing Unit
This is a guide for a learning unit on a Marine Spatial Planning Role Play. I designed it for the Aquaculture, Governance and Society Module in the Aquaculture, Environment and Society Master's Programme at SAMS-UHI.
It is designed to mimic professional practice in marine spatial planning and giving students a safe space to practice their negotiation skills. The guide includes the learning outcomes, a run-down of how the game works, the map and legend, background information on materials needed but also includes slides to show as part of the game, role cards, different game scenarios as options and the marking criteria.
I have provided the slides as both ppt and pdf formats.
